Six days old

Today was a day full of taking pictures of Jovie, who is now six days old.  But...these days when am I not doing that?  My friend, Melanie, is a photographer here in the Treasure Valley and is helping me do a newborn shoot with my girl and teaching me a few things in the process so hopefully I can start doing some soon.

It's going to be Jovie overload over the next couple of weeks because this was just from part I of the shoot!

Jovie was a pretty good little model, except she did pee all over Rhett!

5 days old

My little bug is five days old.  So far so good.

You know, I thought I was a worrier while I was pregnant...but take my worry during pregnancy and times it by 5 as a mom.  For instance, Jovie was born practically nine pounds.  Over the past couple of days she's lost a pound and a half!  It was heartbreaking trying to get her to eat and I was so worried about her weight..but today I think we've fixed the problem.  I'm supplementing with formula and it seems she is sleeping better with a full tummy now.

Here's to more mommy worries in the years to come.  She's so worth it!

Enjoy.

Jovie is here!

My beautiful baby has finally arrived.  She was early...but boy, did it feel like I was going to have to wait forever!  Jovie was born June 6th and weighed 8 lbs 15 oz.

I love her so, so much!

And you know who else loves her??  Well, of course Rhett and me...but her grandma does too!
My mom will be here for a couple weeks helping us in taking care of her and so I wanted to take a few pictures of them together.

My mom is smitten and so is Jovie!

As for me, be ready for plenty of Jovie pictures.  I'm still recovering from surgery, but I'll do my best to keep updating this blog with pictures of my little one!

little loafers

My obsession with crocheting little loafers started a few months ago. One, they are actually really easy to make. Two, babies don't use shoes too often and they are inexpensive. And three, they are super cute! You probably noticed the orange pair in the nursery post! This brown pair is for a friend who is a newborn photographer.

I'm ready to start crocheting some winter boots and beanies, now!

Sneak Peek

I've never really been one for 3D ultrasound pictures. I admit, the pictures sometimes look like little alien babies. But...now I understand. Wait until it's YOU who is having the baby and that little peanut will look perfect no matter what. So, naturally, that's how I feel about my little Jovie who is now 30 weeks along. Perfection.

Sleepy Jovie.

Hi, guys!

Sleepy Jovie again.

my heart is full. <3

Some editing practice...

So, if you're at all new to visiting my blog...that's good. I'm new to blogging (as you can tell from my site). But what isn't new is my love for photography. And recently I've been blessed to meet a pretty amazing girl in Boise who has already helped me with so much with that passion. Not just technically, but really with just being an encouragement -- in life and in photography. If you get a chance you should check out her site, Melanie Fitzgerald Photography.

Anyway, this week we worked a bit on editing. Rhett, once again served as my model even though he was sick!

my cat popped in, too.
